300 gallon
Hi I am looking for a 300 gallon starphire tank to be built in Alberta. Any suggestions would be helpful. I hope to have a fish and planted tank with a sump. Thanks.

Re: 300 gallon
Couple of suggestions... custom builds are very expensive. The Starphire, or low iron glass is a waste imo. I have a 135 with Starphire front panel. You can tell a slight dif when empty, no dif with water in. If you are near any BigAls outlet, look into the 84x24x24, 265 Marineland tank. Should run you about 14-1500 bucks. I have one, its a great tank. And a lifetime warranty to the original buyer. Tough to beat that. I would guess that a 300g custom build would be well over 3 grand.

Curious fish lady.. have you ever built a tank? Claiming its not that hard is a bit of a wayward statement imo. I have built several over the years including an 8ft 475gal. Its a LOT of work and margin of error is zero or less, especially for really big ones. And you always have in the back of your mind... will it hold?

I had looked on line at building but as I have been away from it for 20 years and it is going in my living room safer prob to just buy it

Sounds very exciting. Where are you getting it done? I too hope to see a tank journal for this one.

Bought in Calgary. Background ordered from Universal rock. Should be here late next week or early after. Gonna put a layer of Miracle Gro then Black Diamond sand for a cap. Cant wait.
