Maybe you can try your luck once again, but don't get your hopes up!
If I were you, I'd ask a buy 5 get one free type of deal because he's been a lousy seller.

Re: You've got to be kidding me.
Honestly if I were to contact him again I'd settle for just getting the fish!!!
Edit to add - OKay I just emailed him that I STILL want these fish. My parents are running into the city today as well so if he hasn't left yet it could be magic.

That's what I asked for originally but at that time he said they were almost too young to sex but he would try his best.

Pretty nice.
Hopefully you get this ratio, anything different would not be a good thing. Male peacock gudgeons will be aggressive towards each other when not provided with enough females.

Worse comes to worse I've got the 10g plant tank that's also empty. Or the 35g's only got the two angels and the BN pleco in it and it's a tall tank so the bottom's basically empty.

Good thing you got a backup plan then!
I really hope you don't have too many males because for every male you should have 2 females.
Let's say you have 3 males and 3 females, that would oblige you to separate those in three different schools! :O
And these fish really do better at 1 male 2 female ratio, because the male will eventually harass the females a bit too much

Well at least I'd finally have some fish in my tanks! Haha!
I'm just ticking off things in my head right now, right after work I need to run to the hardward store for some tubes.
Quick little water change.
Glue some moss to the tubes and place them in the tank and then I should be ready for them!
Do they each need a tube so 6?

Re: You've got to be kidding me.
One for every male, at least.
They don't really hang in the tubes, they just go there to do their business!
3/4 inch tubing will be fine, apparentely they like it narrow..
So the tubing is not something "urgent", as long as you have a lot of plants..
The most important thing is to have the tubes at places where they aren't in each other's sight.

Re: You've got to be kidding me.
Oh good I can skip the hardware store than, I bought two pieces of nylon tubing earlier but never put them in. I think they're 1" wide. It's fully planted, I might drop in a few more java ferns on rocks to fill in some gaps where I'm waiting for plants to grow and there's a piece of wood in the corner that makes a nice hiding spot as well.
I'm super excited!

I so hope it works out for you! Go to the hardware store this weekend anyway; if you happen to have a skewed ratio they can also use the tubes to hide from each other if necessary.

Re: You've got to be kidding me.
I'm also very happy for you!
You will fall in love with this fish.
I'm seriously thinking of building up my school to a large number. They are a bit like neon tetras, they school together, but not tightly.

Yay!! Congratulations!
You will be amazed by them.
They will be timid at first but after a few days they'll come out of their hiding place and will greet you
