Hi, I’m thinking about setting up a new 20 gallon long tank with live plants and some fish. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’m starting to get a little confused. I currently have a 10 gallon tank with your typical plastic plants and gravel with 10 fish in it doing well. I’m not a big fan of plastic plants and decor and would really like to have a more natural looking tank.

Any advice on where to start and recommend equipment would be much appreciated.

Hi Phil,

Welcome. A few more questions for you. What is your current lighting situation for the tank? Current filter? Do you have interest in including a CO2 system (either an out of the box system or DIY style system?). Any details on the water where you are from (harder? soft? tds?).

Love planted tanks!
