Air Pump - need advice
I have only had my tank set up for a few weeks now, and am still spending money to get it how I want it.
We purchased a big ship for it, and it has the bubble stone in it.
I need some advice on what type of air pump to buy. I would like to be able to add a lighted bubble bar in the future, so I think I need an air pump that will be able to use more than one air line.
I know absolutely nothing about air pumps, or what all is needed, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sherry

Re: Air Pump - need advice
The air pump you use really depends on the size of the tank you have. It has to be powerful enough to be able to push air through the entire length of the hose. Generally most air pumps will list on the packaging the size tank they are designed for, so that will make it easier. But what pump you get also depends on how many air driven accessories you plan to use in your tank. If you are running a simple bubble wand and nothing else, the air pump recommended for your sized tank is sufficient. If you plan to run 2, or 3, or more accessories you will want to get a stronger pump.
Re: Air Pump - need advice
I always get one bigger than I need. (They are quite inexpensive.) You can always put reducers in the air line if it is too strong (little plugs that adjust the air flow, often included with the air pump purchase). And, there are t's available to use two lines with only one outlet.
Have fun with your tank!!!
