Boxing Day fish purchases anyone? Empty Boxing Day fish purchases anyone?

Post by vince0 Thu Dec 26, 2013 7:47 pm

Hey Folks,

I wanted to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a bountiful stressless boxing day. For my part, I went over to my favorite local fish store, and they we're having a 2for1 sale on fish. This was perfect as my step daughter bought me a gift card for fishy stuff. I ended up walking away with 6 hillstream loaches (they look like a mix between a flounder and a pleco) and some Columbian tetras. I believe the larger bodies may give them hope of living in my 180g with some larger cichlids.

Anyone else go fishy boxing day?

Ps. I also got some legos on sale. My step daughter got quite the horde of legos and I was quite jealous. She's so smart and doesn't need my help to build them anymore, so I buy my own set so we can sit and build together. Good times!

Two for one sale? I have a good idea where you went. Too bad I couldn't make it out this year.

Also, my other half loves lego. I certainly enjoy watching the builds.

Got a yellow Tang on hold to pick up this weekend.

I was a Lego addict,

I actually used to make Lego tables and sell them. They are wood tables that have a Lego sheet on top for building things on. I have pictures somewhere I will see if I can find.

Super cool, Steve. I had one when I was a child as well. I miss the Lego....I foresee me retrieving it from my parent's house in the near future.... All this talk about Lego makes me want to pull it out.

Boxing day is an unknown phenomenon here in Mexico. People say though that internet sales are also having boxing day. Maybe I should have checked that out....

on a whim... looks like I've decided to invest in a pressurized co2 system....

Congratulations everybody with the buys! Btw, where does the word 'boxing' day actually come from? For us, Europeans it is second Christmas day and (most important of all!) an extra holiday...
