I Have 3 New Fish!!!
Hi everyone!
I have recently acquired 3 new fish. Quite certain they are comets...tiny little guys. One of them is white, the 2nd is a brilliant reddish/orange color with white as well, and the 3rd is a less brilliant color of orange with a white stripe. I know they are all goldfish!!!! I am going to post a few photos of them this evening or over the wknd so that folk can have a peak at them.
I have acquired a new home for them...they are residing quite pleasantly as of today in a 35 gallon...each of them were living in spaces that were far too small!!!! They are very small right now wondered if anyone might know how long the 35 gallon might be suitable! They are active, eat well, play together and as mentioned I know they are goldfish just not certain if they are comets or common..this simply based on their color
Enjoy Today !!!

Congrats on your new fish... Whenever we have adopted any goldies from friends moving away, or schools closing down tanks etc., we enjoy them for a while and then they go to my neighbour's place where they have a big indoor tank and huge outdoor natural pond.

Re: I Have 3 New Fish!!!
Thank you for your response! We are very excited about our 3 new additions! I realize the 35 gallon will not be suitable for them long term, we were thinking 1 or possibly 2 years though before upgrading to a large tank more suitable for them
Thanks Again

Re: I Have 3 New Fish!!!
I think I have a new friend
you will be fine for a year of so if they are as small as you say. Sounds like comets to me as well. the main difference between the common goldfish and comets is the length of their tails. A comet will develop a tail that will be about the same length as it's body, a common goldfish will have a tial of only about 1/4 the length of it's body.
here's a couple of links with pictures to help.
Commons have short fins: http://www.bristol-aquarists.org.uk/goldfish/common/common.htm
Comets have long fins: http://www.bristol-aquarists.org.uk/goldfish/comet/comet.htm

Re: I Have 3 New Fish!!!
Hi Steve, you do indeed have a new friend!
I have looked at your videos on you tube and wish I could come and meet all of your goldfish. You are an incredibly inspiring person!!!!
I have looked at the sites that you posted and there is nothing showing the comet, just the common...wondered if you might have a moment sometime if you could send that along as I am quite anxious to read and look at the photos.
Thank you so much for your response!
The little guys that are currently in the 35 gallon are very small and \i am assuming they are just babies...at the moment the 3 of them look very tiny in there...although the one that is white in color is the larger of the 3. I will send along photos so that you could, have a peak at them if you wouldn't mind..likely not this evening but over the wknd for sure
We have already received such joy in bringing these beautiful and graceful fish into our home and our lives.
Again Many Thanks!

Ha! Why, are we sending a special package of snails?! Nope, don't have his address....just watched a ton of his videos on you tube! Couldn't see enough of the property to determine his specific location!Pamelajo wrote:Since you have seen his place you must have his address can you send it to me??Shell wrote:
