New fish species for me
Came back from the Regina Fall Auction with lots of plants and the following fish - for each one I bid 2 dollars to get slow bidding going and ended up with them:
Trio of Jenynsia lineata “One sided Livebearer”
Dozen 21-14 oryzias woworae "Indonesia Rice Fish"
Pair of Lamprologus' brevis

Interesting stuff. I've always been curious about Jenysia, I had a lot of fun breeding the Oryzias - a truly weird fish that is also pretty - and brevis is a nice looking little fish.
I think one of our Calgary guys was breeding one sided livebearers - I can't remember if it was Vince or Dan.
Great pick ups. Fun auction? It sounds like it was a buyer's market.

Great pick ups !
Was the livebearer breeder in Regina ?
I recall that suckerforplecos (see Trade Section) was looking for Jensyia, however I think the side has to matched.

It truly was a buyers market! Mostly everything went dirt cheap! It was my first auction and I will be attending regularly. If I hadn't just bought an entire tank worth of plants, there were quite a few nice specimens to be picked up cheap! I'm glad you bought some, Diogenoir. Also, nice finds with the fish! I've always wanted to keep those little shell dwellers. Maybe one day! Although, I'd have trouble selling the nice lass I date the idea of getting another tank....especially since I just set one up! (But she did come to the auction with me and was excited about the purchase!) Has everyone settled in nicely? What kinda set up will the Lamprologus brevis be in?
I purchased 5 x Melantaenia herbertaxelrodi juvies. I thought about buying some of those rice fish but without doing research, I wasn't sure if I wanted to use any tank space on them or not.

See if I can answer all the questions.
Shell dwellers got put into a sand bottom tank along with there shell
Yes like the blue of this rice fish
Onesiders came by way of the Edmonton Auction not sure if the gentleman who bought them at Edmonton keep any for himself he bought a few as now one was buying them there. That is the problem with our wild type livebearers their are only a few of us guys that love these things
