Is there enough liquid in these to kill fish in a 125 gallon tank?
I had one in my koi/goldfish tank & noticed earlier it was standing in the sand. There's a hairline crack at the top & maybe half the liquid as come out.
Should I be worried or no?

I haven't had to deal with this personally, but I'm quite sure that most thermometers aquariums use red dyed alcohol as the liquid. I expect it should be fine, but I would consider a water change or two.

I mean the clear liquid within the tube, not the red stuff as that part is still intact.

Now, I have had one or 2 broken into pieces in my shark tank before and they were fine. even with the shards of glass sitting on the bottom.

No harm in the liquid, red or clear. Mercury hasnt been used in a long time. You may want to go with a dif type? I prefer the digital, probe inside, monitor outside. Dont get the real cheapies, but you dont need the pricey ones either. Mid range, 15 bucks or so perform well.

I had the floater before I got my hands on a digital one from ebay (first purchase ever on there).
I just never took it out til I saw it on the bottom.

Side note: looking at your sig, I wanted to get an African cichlid. But they don't like koi.

A red terror and a goldfish - they make horror movies about scenes like that!
