Where do you keep your stuff?
Along with an aquarium, comes a lot of other "stuff". My two main aquariums are on nice stands with storage space underneath. However, I cannot fit all the stuff that goes with it in the spaces. The bucket definitely does not fit. The extra lighting tubes, long handled algae scraper, cleaners, nets, filter cotton, spare heater, etc, etc... Now I have the new python to find a place for. Those of you lucky enough to have a fish room probably don't have a problem with this. But where do the rest of you find space for your stuff?

Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
For a long time, we had stuff just spread out on towls next to the tanks! But, we just built a tall, narrow shelf unit using a cube set on which to store everything. You can make them as tall, wide, etc. as you want, which is useful. This one fits nicely in a corner next to my filing cabinets. The cube shelves are great because you can hang nets and smaller vacuums from them, as well as store things on the shelves. Our bigger vacuum, unfortunately, doesn't fit anywhere on the shelves! So, that stays in the laundry room inside a rubbermaid bin.

Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
My tanks are both on stands so most everything fits in there. My buckets are sitting next to one of the stands with my vacuums, nets and scraper inside.
I wish I had a fish room, if I did though my family probably wouldn't see much of me!

Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
I have one of the plastic cabinets with the drawers and wheels on the bottoms for most of the stuff. Then I have room behind each tank for bigger containers.
Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
Maybe an easier question to answer would be where don't I keep aquarium stuff.
IT'S EVERYWHERE!!!

I built shelves into the cabinet that came with my main tank; lots of stuff fits in there.
Then I keep a carton box with odds that I use seldom in the storage and the buckets with the nets and vacuum go into the laundry area.

Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
Presently, my stuff is kept All Over The Living Room. I'm still in the process of cleaning up from the paludarium project, and the living room was my workspace for that.
The palu is on an old TV stand. The bottom of the TV stand would be perfect for storage except that my sump takes up nearly all the space. I just got a nice (but small) bookshelf to put food and little equipment items. Towels and buckets are strewn about in the aquarium area of the living room for now. Hopefully I'll develop a better system, it seems to be driving my bf nuts for some reason

Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
I have about 10 sandbags filled with used aquarium gravel stacked up outside near my ponds.
most of my stands have storage spave I fill with supplies.
In my store room I have 16 ft of 6 ft high shevles filled with spares/new suplies.
Outside next to the hot tub is a industrial workbench 8 ft long piled up with spare tanks 3 tanks high.
with pumps and parts underneath it.
Never enough room
Cheers

Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
Bedrooms and Living room are free of tank stuff.
Kitchen has a small snail tank with a few accessories under the sink and nearby.
Main floor Laundry/Washroom has my Molly tank with tons of doo dads in clear plastic storage bins. Love those !
Basement and barn have a few spare tanks, etc.

See? I'm not the only one... what's usually in my car is a styro fish box, ice cream buckets, sometimes bags... basically stuff I use to transport fish.Pamelajo wrote:I was thinking in your car?? Then I realized I have jar show tanks in mine.

Re: Where do you keep your stuff?
Oh my. Like at least one other member I'm in a bachelor apartment (no balcony), so there's a little issue with room...
Since I bleach EVERYTHING between use these days there's a permanent bleach bucket in the bathroom, which is also where I store substrates, hoses, reusable filter material, small plastic tubs etc.
Aquarium supplies take up about a third of my kitchen cupboards, one of my two clothes closets and half of my storage room.
The rest of the supplies are under the fish shelves or by the tanks. Really, it's not as bad as it sounds:-)
