white kinda sorta flaky stuff

That's the best way to describe the stuff I see floating around in my koi/goldfish tank that has a sand bottom.
I don't use any floss for the 3 filters in that tank. So it's not floss breaking down which may be the case for my "shark" tank.
Anyone have ANY ideas as to what it may be? I wonder if it's from the bio max pouch that disintegrated about a month ago that is in my Aquaclear 500. That has since been replaced with a new pouch.

Its not just some lime scale from the side of the tank is it?

There's nothing on the sides of this tank. Not even algae.

Wood was removed months ago after the pleco died. Only have 2 fake plants in there.

There's only ever been 2 fish in there. The koi & a comet goldfish.
