Should have known better
So last night I went to feed the fish. I had actually forgotten until I went to relax in my chair for a bit before heading to bed, and they all came to the side of the tanks to stare at me and make me feel guilty.
Okay, so what shall we feed you tonight? I have a container of pellets that is almost gone so I decided to use that up. I should have reached in to pinch some out, but no... I was being lazy and decided to gently tip and tap some out. Well rather than come out in small gentle amounts, the pellets must have been a little stuck because a whole bunch came out at once, into my tank and dispersed!! Sh#$%t. I mean shoot! And these were tiny pellets so the net won't catch them.
Blast, now I have to do another water change which means another trip to town for water! I didn't want to go in the dark last night so I better head off now so I can change this water.

Re: Should have known better
No fun that you had to make an unexpected trip in for water!
This happened to a friend of mine, except it was his son who tipped in too much. My friend was taking a nap, and his son woke him up saying that he might have given the fish too much...when he checked the tank, pretty much the entire container of fish flakes had been dumped in!
Tonight I got home from work late and so I asked hubby to feed the cories and guppies. Hubby said to me, "I think I overdid it". When I looked in their tank, I saw tons of small kelp granules, shrimp pellots, and flake food - everywhere....floating on the top, covering the substrate - everywhere!!!
So, I have now figured out why the fish love hubby so much!!

I would love to meet them, and everyone else on here.
And I am glad to know I am not the only one who has accidentally fed too much. That tank is fasting today.
