First Fishy Road Trip!!
Hello Folks!
Last night was a first for me, I drove 160km each direction for fish, after work.... I don't think I ever road tripped for fish before! I drove from the very south end of Calgary, all the way to Red Deer, north of the city, for 4x F2 Glossolepis Multisquamatus, essentially 2x proven breeding pairs! These we're given to me, so that I may try my luck at breeding them and keeping the strain going in Alberta... This is quite an honor! I brought a buddy along and we had 4 hours filled with all sorts of fun conversations over many topics.
Anyone else road trip for fish? What's the farthest you've gone?

AWESOME !!! This is what fish keeping is all about ! I can imagine what the road trip was like. Many years ago I did a road trip to the KWAS auction with a St Catharines store owner and picked up my first Leleupi breeding pairs. Though Gerry was old, much older, it was a trip about fish tales and just indulging.

Road trips are fun, especially with friends. I've gone to a few aquarium conventions over the past few years, and they are always entertaining. As far as road trips for a pair or two of fish, I've done 4 hour round trips after work.

I have traveled 3 hours one way and picked up fish, but it was always when I was traveling for another reason as well, so I don't know if that counts.

Re: First Fishy Road Trip!!
I do have an admission to make. I have organized a whole weekends of activities, including going to a waterpark, and a concert, so that I could get half a day of fish shopping in Edmonton. It was worthwhile, but turns out the other activities we're more memorable. This was the first time that I travelled for a 4 hour period, used a third of a tank (approx. 25 litres of regular gas) exclusively for fish.
