I had just finished doing a 50% water change on my big tank, including changing the floss in my 10 gallon tub filter, when I took a look at my API XP3. I noticed that it was clean. No build up of any sort, even though the last time I cleaned it about a month ago, there was build up in different areas of the canister.
Does this mean that my 10 gallon filter is doing a damn good job at keeping things clean to where the XP3 doesn't get as much junk now?

The big filter has a lot of those pot scrubbers, a large bio ball bag, polyurethane furnace filter media & then the floss to top it off.

Any ideas or thoughts?

I would say so. it sounds like the particles are getting caught in the 10g floss, and the canister is filtering biologcally.

The canister is at one end while the pump for the 10g is at the other end.
