So guess what arrived today???

Ok I will tell you, some new fish. cheers

110 baby Koi to be exact. Between what were DOA and a couple of more that crocked throughout the day I got 98 that survived. A little more casualties then I would have liked but not bad. I don't have to pay for the dead ones.

These will mostly be for sales in the Spring of 2015, they were only born this past Spring.

Where did these suddenly come from?! You did not inform/warn us beforehand...

They weren't suppose to arrive until the Spring but the guy I got them from was tight on tank space so i had them shipped now.

Pond supplies? as in pumps and stuff, no. Just going to continue expanding the line of pond plants that I sell and adding more fish. I get people buying pond plants and they will ask if I sell fish as well. So it's nice to have a few Koi/Goldfish on hand to sell the same time. This coming season I am getting a shipment of hybrid water lilies from Holland. Going to start with 25 and see how they sell this season.

That sounds great! Are you going to get 25 plants or 25 different hybrids? I read a while back about a guy from my province (Friesland) that was cultivating lilies in a lake. He lives at the lake shore and had obtained permission to use part of the lake for that purpose. He seemed to have acquired quite some clout with his lilies.

I assume you will sell the koi/gold fish in 2014 (next season) and not in 2015? Or are you planning another monster project to carry these through until 2015?! Shocked

You have 1200 gallons to hold them. The Arc will be able to hold them all, and I think you are well set up. You may wish to start setting up your Koi lineage plans for show strains.

using a lake, that's a cool idea. With my luck I would get fined for introducing a non-native species Shocked

The supplier I am getting the lilies from sells them in multiples of 5 roots per variety, so I will get 5 each of 5 different varieties.

This batch is for Spring 2015, they are only 1-2" in length. I have about 50-60 Koi that are currently about 5-6" that will be for this coming Spring.
