Glad he was told to remove the fish, and can see why he did it in the first place though. That's the problem with good intentions.

I think it was a great lesson and shows the ignorance of people. I am certain many more people will no longer dump the goldfish after this article.

While he may have had good intentions, it's a perfect example of what not to do. If it was a closed pond on his property, then have at it. This however seems to be a waterway connected to other streams/ponds/lakes. The damage this can do to the local ecosystem is hard to measure, but it would not be good. Having said that it may already be to late. If these goldfish are of spawning size, they may have already spawned or will before his gets them out. That's assuming he can even catch them all.
