I am back in Montreal and have made an inventory of how everything went in my tanks during my absence.

It turns out I have only 3 espies left in my 125 litre tank (30 gallons) and it is looking quite empty. It is now only the home of 6 loaches, 3 female bettas and 2 cherry barbs plus the 3 espies.

I was wondering whether I could add the honey gouramis? Or is that not a good idea as the bettas are also anabantoids?

i believe bettas and gouramis are a big nono

when I first got a tank, I had them in together, there were always nipping... but I also didn't know about anything fish related back then either. (I had guppies, bettas, tiger barbs, and gouramies in a 10g tank, go figure... )

I agree with caoder. Even though I have never kept bettas, everything I have read or heard says not to keep them together.
