How is it that algae grows in one tank (koi/comet) but not in the ID shark tank?

There are a lot of factors that influence type and amount of algae growth.

- Light (intensity,wavelength, and duration)
- Nutrients (from water, fertilizers, leftover food, fish waste)
- I expect some algae can even out compete each other
- Water flow
- Frequency and size of water changes
- CO2 availability and stability
Etc

There are many factors that could influence the differences in algae between tanks.
