MTS has a hold need rearranging advice Empty MTS has a hold need rearranging advice

MTS has a good hold on me...I bought an 11th tank last night sight unseen!! It is from a friend so I told her I will buy it in 10 days when I have money again. It is a 20 or 25g with hood and she wants $25!!!! @Fish lady was in my head saying "DO IT!! YOU KNOW YOU WANNA!!!" lol So...this is where I need the advice...
First I bought myself a 3 subject notebook and a brand new pack of pens and began recording info such as the name and family of each of my types of fish, the min tank size, temp, KH and ph. Then I made a detailed list of "current stock" including tank size, filter type, how many of each kind of fish and approx when I got them. I plan to also use this book to keep track of my temp as well as my water changes and test results. I was writing all that down when I got the msg about the new tank. So I used the bottom page of my "current stock" and began planning my tanks out again and this is where I need advice...I think I have a good plan but input is always good Smile I am not moving anything in the 55g or 36g other than moving the Zebra Danios back to the 55g from 36g when the new Rasboras come (if/when supplier has them) and the current 20g, 12.88g, 15g will all remain the way they are. This is what I have to move around and why...
5g with African Dwarf Frogs- I would like to move them to a 10g
5g with Red Rili and Ghost Shrimp- I would like to move them to a 10g
2 empty 10g- I would like to set one of them up for Kilifish or I can use the 20g for the Killi's (?)
10g with @Fish lady's BN Plecos and guppy fry (Don't tell me to put them in the new 20g, that will enable Fish lady to purchase more fish near me! lmao jk)
Moving the frogs and shrimp to bigger tanks will allow me to use the 2 5g's that they are currently in for the bettas for breeding as the 2 tanks sit side by side.
I guess my biggest issue is would the 20g be too big for Killi's? I would really prefer to leave the guppy fry and Fish lady's BN Plecos in the 10g for awhile longer as I don't think I can catch all the fry and snail babies to move them lol I could put the shrimp in the 20g and maybe use it for the male fry once they are big enough to sex... So...2 5g's for bettas, 3 10g's for frogs, shrimp, and Kilifish after babies are moved out (?) then the new 20/25g for? Hmmmm...guess I still don't have it figured out! Need to move the bedding cupboard out of my fish room so I have a place to put the table for the new tank lol

If you want to breed the bettas, I would take a 10 instead of a 5. The reason being that you will not have to move the fry for grow out.

When you move them their 'blood bond' is lost and they will start eating the smaller ones. You can avoid having to separate them in cups for much longer in this way.

A 5 is definitively big enough for a nice colony of shrimp. I can't comment on the frogs as I have never kept them.

A 20 gallon actually makes a nice size for a grow out tank for juveniles of multiple species.

I don't think a 20 is too big for killies, depending upon how you want to breed them. In a 20 for several species you can have a small colony and breed them in situ if the tank is planted well.

Until now I am saying: keep everything the way it is, and figure out what to do with the new tank!

LOL that works also...the new one is a 20g for sure, I was down and measured it. So looks like the only thing I need to do at this point is set up the 2 empty 10gs to begin cycling them for bettas and killi's Smile Or maybe....ahhhh...idk...guess I'll think about it all some more. lol

I think that is what is going to happen however, I like the idea of giving the female betta a 5g tank beside the male's 20g tank. I still have the laundry issue in my fish room lol so I guess that is my next step, and then see where I will be putting the 2 10g's...maybe I won't have room to put a 5g and 10g to sit side by side...wait a min...lol NO!! I am NOT moving "YOUR" my fry tank lol

Killies thrive in 20s, however, I fill them only about 2/3 of the way up, and use air driven filters. 10s are probably better, as mts can also show through the old "I could put something else in a tank that size" effect, which could kill the killie experiment. Are you ready to put two small fish in a 20? I do it, but it's a tough decision for a lot of fishkeepers to hold to.
It can be easier psychologically to start by using a 10.

That's the biggest issue I am having at this point is...Do I really want all the empty space in a 20g? I could always just store that one for now and that way IF the Killie colony expands enough I will have a bigger tank in waiting Smile
