feed less & use a botia species loach. But best way is a snail trap Smile Use a empty water bottle put a piece of vegitable in it and a rock, harvest daily. To avoid a wet arm, tie a fishing line to it. Smile

Lettuce, cucumber or zucchini, you might end up with otos at times if you have them in your tank.

I've got small black snails in my shark tank now.
I only feed every other day. Think I got some of that Snail B gone or whatever here somewhere.

in terms of a planted tank, i usually consider an unsightly outbreak an indication of imbalance. Too much food or too much algae for them to feed on..

I have snails in my show tank but only a small number.
They don't over populate and I attribute this to my many shrimp and endler fry who gobble up all leftover food.
I also use a high quality pellet food, which will cause less leftovers.
I had a friend who had a lot of snails and since she started feeding NLS pellets, she noticed a population drop.

Snail B Gone is a heavy copper dosage, isn't it? That could potentially make it Fish B Gone too. Be careful. Toxic stuff, and not just for snails... I'm not a great believer is poisoning in a tank, unless it's in a battle with Ich, Velvet or the physically simpler organisms where we have no choice. Enough copper to drop a snail would worry me.

When copper chelate was sold to kill Ich, a full dosage would not even inconvenience a snail.

Just put a few Assassin snails in there. They will have your snail problem under control in reasonably good time. And then will keep them in check while they hunt out the snails in all the nooks and crannies. All natural way and no chemicals to worry about.

Which ones are the best for that?

On a side note, I wish my oldest "shark" would stop being a bully towards the smaller sharks of the same species. They're a schooling fish yet he chases them away...
